This is definitely not impossible, but would be very hard and very rare!.

You would need to go very quickly to a very very good ballet school, and begin preparing to go to a pre-professional ballet school!.

It would be immensely hard work, and other options would need to be kept wide open

The said 14 year old would definitely need to speak to her new dance teacher about it!.

Girls can become professional ballet dancers at any age!. Back a long time ago, there were "baby ballerinas" - they were called this because they were only around 13/14!.

But now, I think most people become professionals at the age you would finish your final year at school, if not a year or two after!. This is because there are full time ballet schools, like normal school that finish, and then many dancers get accepted into companies!.

Of course, this all depends on if the dancer is accepted into a company or not!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Very unlikely but not impossible!.It is better to start before puberty because at that age the body is more flexible, but if you have been practicing a lot of floor gymnastic that should preserve the flexibility and make it easier for you to be successful!.Remember that the most difficult part of ballet is the very strict discipline to be observed,it is a very hard path and unless it is you prime love in your life you will not be able to pursue a carrier!.Classical ballet requires total dedication above anything else in your life!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

IMO (and I've watched amateur dancers for almost 40 years) is that you are really at about the limit where you could become a professional ballerina!. Most pro dancers are well on their way by age 14 and have been told they have the special talent it takes to become professional!. At age 17-18 most ballerinas who make it in the dance world are already in professional dance companies!. With enormous dedication, great teachers and LOTS of time in the studio, along with a dancer's physique and TONS of talent, you might have a very, very slim chance of making it, because there are literally thousands of young talented women out there with great physical skills, burning ambition and training that don't make it simply because of the ferocious competition!. Remember that the vast majority of professional ballerina careers are short, poorly paid, involve constant dieting and worry about the risk of injury not to mention the whims of the ballet's artistic director!. Whether you try or not is up to you!. Remember that you also have school and a social life to fit in too!. I wish you luck - I really do!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I started ballet at 3 then I quit around 7 and I'm at it again!. So I would say anything is possible!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

it dosen't matter what kind of arch you have!. it all depends on your quality, perserverance, and devotion!. dancing is not about how your feet look!. it is about how well you dance!!!!!

no, you will probably not get to the professional level, it takes a long time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
