actually no!. you want your ballet shoes to be tight!. because when yo ustand on your toes, your foot sinks down and if theyre the same size or bigger than your street shoes, there will be a lot of extra room at your heels!. honestly, you do need to get a professional to fit them for you, at least your first time!. there is one especially good place!. its called the rosin box and its in philladelphia, pennsylvania but idk where you live!. so thats where i got my first pair!. and then i order the next pair online at discountdancesupply!.com !. if your shoes are too tight or you broke the box or shank (like cracked it)!. you need to go get fitted again for a new size or tougness!. but no matter what, every other pair you should get fitted again!. new shoes come out and your feet change!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your best bet would be to go to a store where they can fit you personally so you don't have to worry about shoes that won't fit you properly!. In fact, thats what I'd highly recommend seeing as shoes that don't fit right can cause you some serious problems!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Even flat shoes should also be tight, not just pointe shoes!. If they're too loose, your arch will not show!. However, make sure they aren't too tight either!.

Hope that helps!. :] And good luck with ballet!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on the brand really!. You shouldn't order out of a catalog whatever you do, unless it's for clothes!. Go to a dance store and try some on!Www@QuestionHome@Com

u should ask ur dance teacher see what they say bt if u still r still unsure go 2 a dance shop and try afew on cos the worst thing is dancing in shoes that dont fit, especcaly 4 ur first pairWww@QuestionHome@Com

Hey, im from a uk and i get my ballet shoes fitted for me!. If your getting soft ones then make sure they arent uncomfortable or tight!. Mine are half a size larger, but ive had them for a while now theyre moulded to my feet :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I usually just get my regular size and it works!. Anyway its easier to go to a store and try them on to be sure!. Do some tendue's and forced-arch to see if they fit right!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
