Position:Home>Dancing> Could I still be good?

Question:I'm 13 and I've only done jazz and tap for a year when I was 7, so I didn't really learn much. I want to start ballet in the fall and eventually start pointe, but what I was wondering is, can I still get good at dancing? I'm not talking about being a professional dancer, just one that people will say "she's good, or she has talent" when they see me dance. Thank you!:)

You can be as good as you want to be! and just for the record 13 is actually a really good age to start dancing, sometimes starting at a more mature age will give you an advantage! It seems like you really want to do it, so i think that you will work really hard and be good in no time. It is a lot of work though, you will be sore, but you will learn to love it!

yeahh....i started breakdancing at 13 and im talented so why not you =]

HI

I started ballroom/Latin at 14 and was competing in competitions in a few months, if i can do it anyone can:)
you should def go for it. Ballet also makes you super fit.

Yeah, I think you should definitely do it. Ballet is good for a lot of things and I've always dreamed of being on pointe and now I am :) It takes strength, especially strong ankles and a good upper body and ballet is good for strength, endurance, balance, flexibility, etc. Plus is will keep you fit. Like the person above, if I can do it anyone can :)

you should definitely take ballet, it might take a few years to get good enough for pointe though
you can still get good if work hard
good luck!
