Question:I wanted to learn how to do the Hustle (Disco) and found a video online at YouTube....I wanted to know from the people that did the Hustle back in the 70's if this the correct way to do it? Here is the link....

I was a kid in the 70s and the link you provided shows the dance that I learned to do. It was done in the form of a line dance. The only chance most of us girls had to "do the Hustle" was at birthday party sleepovers, so the line dance was the only option!

No. What you see there was all incorporated as part of the dance when apart, but hustle was remarkable because it's a partner dance that actually brought couples back together after they'd been dancing apart for the previous fifteen years or so. You simply can't do it by yourself. It's like saying you're eating a lemon meringue pie but only making the meringue and leaving out the pie.

That is the line dance to the song, "Do the Hustle". It is a take off of Travolta in Saturday night fever...The dance, the Hustle, is a couples dance, done as rock, step, step, step, to the count of 1 and two, three.
