What is a really good ballet?

Question:What is a good ballet? I'm looking for something not stereotypical (like the Nutcracker). Something with good music.

Some of my favorite ones are:

Coppelia - A rare comedy ballet, some of my fav ballet music. great character dances, and the whole second act is really funny.

Sylvia - same composer as Coppelia, also has fab music.

Jewels: A more contempory ballet (Balanchine), but it's really fun.

Paquita - Great spanishy music, not much story

Romeo and Juliet - Its better than you might expect it to be!

Don Q - Great Spanish and gyspy inspired music, great story

La Bayadère - Kind of long and complicated, but has some really beautiful elements.

Giselle is great.

The really good ballet is in quality of dancers, not in what they dance. And most the ballet has an amazing music. Try catching some of the Russian ballet (they come here from time to time), you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Swan Lake is one of the ultimate stereotypes of ballet, I think. Great Tchaikovsky music - everybody's heard the overture, whether they know it or not!

I recently saw Le Bayedere by the Kirov ballet and it was AWESOME!!!the corps was the most amazing part becasue they were perfectly in time. It had a pretty cool story line too and at one point the main guy gets high on opium and starts to hallucinate and you see the hallucinations...

giselle!! it is cool. its kinda creepy. i like it. cinderella's music by prokofiev is really cool. especially end of act two. clock scene!! its music is cool. i love that one. midsummers night dream is also cool. i think ud like em
