Position:Home>Dancing> Dance Costumes and Prices (Just wonering)?

Question:I always wondered why Dance Costume Companies, don't show/advertise their prices on-line to the public, but instead you have to show valid proof that your a studio owner, to look at the prices on-line, and to get the Costume Catalog.

Why is that?

Why is that?

There are really two kinds of sellers out there, people that sell wholesale (that means they are having the actual items produced), and retailers.

Occasionally, you will find a company who sells their items wholesale as well as retail, but in most cases... if the wholesale company is indeed selling their own stuff retail, retailers won't buy from them because they can't compete with the producer's prices.

It makes more sense to sell a larger quantity of items than it does to sell less, more expensive stuff to individuals. But for a retailer, where that is their focus, it makes sense. In this case, the retailer is the dance costume company. Then the studio who buys it from them marks the price up again before selling it to you... which is where you really get the inflated price.

They don't because not many people buy dance costumes and if they do it is via studio and the studio automatically gets the catalogs

If the costumes are tutu's with nice little designs they are 600 - 4,000 dollars. The better ballet studios dont give away their costumes. I go to a great ballet studio and they dont let us have our costumes we cant even sit in our costumes.
