How old were you when you began ballet?

Question:I started when i was 12 and most people have started wehn they were around 3! Has anybody began ballet as an older child or evan as an adult?

im 13 and started 2 weeks ago i love it i think its kind of better in a way to start later as you pick up stuff easier and we can consentrate on our posture aswell as feet,and the younger children might not want to be there or a devoted.

My daughter was 3 and in the end of year show they had a group of girls who were in their teens perform with them as they had started around the same time. It was nice.

i was 37 and it was the best decission of my life

Sorry to say, i was 3! But all of my friends started about 11! Hope this makes you feel a bit better! Some professionals began at about 15 so don't worry you could be a sucess!

I haven't started ballet that late and I have started ballet when i was 5! They had this school production at my school so I joined. It was a great experience! I know that some professionals have started ballet when they were about 30! You will be a HUGE success if you practice hard and beleive in yourself! Good luck

I was in ballet when I was 10 but wasn't in it again for a few years but now i started again and am 14

Right now I'm 13 and I'm gonna start ballet in the fall. I think that you should definatly start! People older then 50 can do ballet lol! Just stretch a little bit everyday and be confident. If you wanna go on pointe (like me) then you have to pay attention in class, and be serious about ballet. Good Luck!:)

I stareted when I was 13 (now 14).
Ive caught up with the rest of my ballet class and next month im doing the exam with everyone else! ^_^

i did ballet wen i was 3 for like a month, but im 13 and i just started up again wen i was 12. i think u can start at any age. if u really want to do ballet, and work hard enough at it, u could be on the same level as the girls who started wen they were 3.

I started when I was 3, stopped when I was ten. I was absolutely devastated to stop (we moved) At one point actually became depressed. But I made some really good friends and started again when I was 13.

I started when I was three and I'm thirteen now but I don't think I'm very gd. Two girls in my class started last year and they are quite good now, they have improved loads...

I started when I was 2 years old! :) I'm positive many people have started later and become wonderful dancers, though!

but the age that you started at doesnt matter, i know a girl that started when she was 2, and this is my 12th and her 13th year and i really dont mean to be mean, i love her, but shes really not that good, but she never really practiced
i guess you just have to practice and believe in yourself, have confidence, and have fun! =]

I was 4 but my friend was 13.

i was 3, but I quit when i was 12 cause horses were waaaay more fun! Ballet was so boring and serious. plus, you had to weigh like practically nothing if you wanted to become a professional dancer. very silly indeed.
