Stand at the barre, or a chair with some weight on it (a bunch of books or something heavy). Put both hands on the barre, feet in first, and do plies and releves. When you're in the releve position, bend your knees so that you're increasing the pressure on your ankles. Do this in every position, 8 times each.

Lie on your back and draw the knees up, feet on floor, to a count of 4, extend both legs straight up to 4, then flex and point your feet hard (not to hurt, but as far as you can) to four, turn the entire leg from the hip forward and out, open the knees out and cross the ankles, then bring your feet back to the floor. Do it about 8 times.

Stand at the barre or the kitchen sink, facing it, hands on the barre, one foot forward and the other behind in a lunge position. Work on lowering the heel to the floor with the leg straight and bent. I'm not explaining this well, but I think once you try it you'll see what I mean. It works on the hamstring, the muscle behind the knee and foot flexibility.

Walking with ankle weights is good too. Leg lifts, battements, any kind of leg work with the weights will help.

Don't skimp on protein. You need it for lean muscle mass.

swimming prob be most relaxing and fun way i rekon... and prob walk much as u can...

for a few minutes a day continuosely go up and down on your toes and after every 10 plea
or put strap weights round your ankles and ust walk around like you would normally do they will strenthen your ankles without you realsing it!
