Hi, 20 years old is still young, you know,i started my ballet dance when i was 20...ha....of course I'm not start from lower grade,i started from grade 6. Althought is very tough, but i never give up,i keep practising at home and do alot of stretching. Now,im 32yr old, I learnt my dance 5 times a week.
2 days grade 8, 2days Advance 1, 1 day Advance Foundation and 1 day is the free work.
When i start my grade 6 ballet and intermediate foundation, i was pratising with small girls.....im the oldest in the class....but when i start to dance with the music,i feel that i getting young and im a small girl too!!ha...
Im now going to take my grade 8 exam this yr April 26.And also my Adv exam this end of the year.....
At the sametime, i teaching ballet also, the kids are so CUTE and LOVELY!they are angel in my heart!
If you realy like to dance, just go ahead.......hope you enjoy it.

lynn

it's never too late, especially if you have done it in the past... I say go for it and good luck!!!

no. nothing's too late. once you get back to dancing, you can decide if performing is possible.
but getting back to dancing is a good idea.

Go for it! Im 25 so you are going to have to teach me some moves too ;)

No its not to late, i go to the best dance school where i am and there is adult classes and there is loads of interest.
Just go for it , get on your shoes and dance like no one cares about your age because they wont anyway.

It's never too late to learn. But you could try performing in a few jigs before you decide it's the thing for you. Somehow, it happens that impulsive tendencies tend to get people into trouble, and a switch at this point may not be very advisable. How bout enrolling in a few classes while you do your course so that you can see whether you can give all the time that is required for pursuing a career in dance? cos professional dance and casual dance is very different and demand differently

Maybe you could enrol in a dance competition?

No, its not to late..Me and my friends have this crew called, The Georgia Peaches ( Were holding auditions for this, email me for more information). And we made it through the auditions for America's Best Dance Crew..

Dream + Quality = DESTINY!!
~~DONT FORGET THAT!!~~

You can dance at any time, but competitively you may have lost your window of opportunity depending on what type of dance.

Ballet : yes
Tap : not necessarily
Jazz : perhaps
Hip Hop: no
swing: no
Charleston : no
tango : no
ballroom : no

and those are just common north american styles

of course not!! you just need to do stretchings and warm ups again and you're good to go!! you mentioned you've danced before, so it won't be too hard for you.. you just need to familiarize yourself again with the moves and rhythm and then, you'de be dancin' all night!!

i'm 22, also a previous dancer, as long as you know how to move, then YOU CAN DANCE!

:)

I am 19 and I am a dancer. I say go for it. You are never too old to do what you love. Dance is about expression, so express your self!

No some adults in my dance class just started and they are a little older than you.
