Question:alright...I have a question about ballet, specifically pointe.
could you, theoretically, start ballet en pointe? or would it absolutely murder your feet? and assuming that's what happens, what exactly could the consequences be? would it be like bruising or would it be like broken bones?
thanks, and I'm sorry if this isn't exactly worded right.

No.
You have to be able to learn ballet steps, combinations, and technique BEFORE you go on pointe.

You could SERIOUSLY injure yourself, because it typically takes years to prepare for pointe. Your muscles must be strong and ankles able to support your weight. You also must have correct posture before going on pointe so you are sure to have it on pointe. It helps in preventing injuries, also. You also learn to find your core and balance in regular ballet, and if you can't balance without being en pointe, you certainly can't balance on pointe. You could be facing serious long term injuries in the feet, ankles, and even knees.

MURDER YOUR FEET! tht could never happen with out breaking ur ankle u wouldnt be able to stand up in themm!

No, your feet and ankles wouldn't be strong enough to support you. Also, you wouldn't have the focused strength in your core to hold you up. You typically need several years of regular ballet before getting pointe shoes. Then after getting them, you dance en pointe only at the bar for quite a bit of time before really "dancing" en pointe. If you were to just start up at pointe there are a myriad of foot problems that could occur as well as joint and knee issues. Your feet might also bleed (as some people who have worked to get onto pointe experience) blister, or have nail issues. Assuming you knew nothing about dancing en pointe and you tried to dance on the floor, you might fall and therefore break some bones, yes.

Hope that helps!

No, you can't. Your feet would be completely underdeveloped, causing you to possibly permanetly hurt yourself. It could involve both bruising and broken bones. Your feet would be MURDERED!!!! Please, can you do what no other book has done and NOT make it a "miracle" story where all of a sudden the dancer has super strong feet. We dancers can work around 7-10 years to get those shoes. Please don't make people think that ballet doesn't require long training for pointe shoes.
