Position:Home>Dancing> What are pirouettes, toe touches, and leaps called?

Question:well for ballet, you cant really classify those thre movements together. Pirouettes are obviously still pirouettes. Toe touches are called grande jete alesecond. And leaps are just grande jetes. You can classify both the jumps as grande allegro.
Im not sure if thats what you want but.... yeah.

Well, In the ballet studio that I am a part of...

I'd classify pirouettes as turns.
A toe-touch is a type of 'grande' jump.
And there are many many many leaps in dancing. there are petite jumps and grande jumps. it all depends. there's a Grande Jeté, which is probably the leap you're thinking of.
