For me my turnout issues come from my too-curved lumbar spine, so the biggest improvement comes from keeping my pelvis turned under. I concentrate on tucking my butt under. As you turn it under you can feel your hips opening.

Ronde jambe helps for it too, I find.

When you are not turned out from the hip, your knees will feel tight, you rool inward, and you feel off balance. To find your natrual turnout, mt teacher taught to begin parallel, and slow turn out to a comfortable position. With releves, just turn out to what is comfortable at first. As you gradually increase your turnout, it will be easier to turn out more and maintain a better turnout.

To find how it feels to turn out with ONLY your hip, lift one leg in front of you (very low like a degage) and relax EVERYTHING then concentrate on turning your whole leg out by just rotating in your hip. Move it out and in a couple times and you'll get the feel of it.

the way you know is when your knees are over your toes and you don't feel pained in the knees

Do your own homework sis

THE ANSWER IS: you must keep your knees in LINE with your space between your big and second toes. youcan even run a small piece of tape from the bottom of your knee down to your ankle but stay in line with the toes. that is the proper placement that will not injure you. now you stand with your feet parralel and open them to first position. that is your natural turn out from your hips. and if you adjust to make your feet go even more out you are not turning from the hips anymore and maybe out of line.

in releve' or flat if you practice rond de jambe a terre or en liar this will help ( in endedan)

its all about training the thigh not your foot though so any thing you do that uses your thighs to be turned out your feet benefit!!! just stick with it.

the best excorsize to do is to lay BELLY down and bring your knees up on each side of you place the soles of your feet together and you will notice that your feet are higher then the rest of your body. thats okay . the natural weight of your feet will go help you in rotating your turn out. just hang out and do your homework like a frog! start small.

holding ur turnout .. means that ur knees are facing outward to show your inner thigh. just like in 1st position ur knees shoud be in line with ur feet. also when u plie ur legs shoud be in a diamond shape buy pulling ur knees out as much as u can.

to know when ur turning out fom the hip .u shoud always chek thatyour knees are over and inline with your toes.

when u do releves- to maintain ur tunrout u shud pull up.this means u shud tense and lock ur knees and thigh muscles and maintain good posture. and try to turn your heels out it helps.
hope it helped :)
oh yeah and i find a thera band is good to work wiith for srenghtnening ankles.

Do a plier then do a big first position. Also, if you pull yourself up, then your legs at the side will be flat.

thanx for the 2 points!

do clams or piriformis they help a lot with your turn out muscles
