Quickstep is an International Style ballroom dance. it is similar than the foxtrot but with faster steps! it is very dynamic and involves runs, hops, quick steps with a lot of momentum, and rotation.

Jive is a dance style originated among African-Americans in the early of 40's. Its the advanced way of the jitterbug. and it is sort of the swing dance and the moves are similar of the east coast swing .In Ballroom dancing, Jive is one of the five International Latin dances.

Tango is originated in lower-class districts of Buenos Aires, Argentine and Uruguay. There are different style of tango wich the most sexiest and dirtiest as i mean dance by being real close to the partner is the argentine Tango.

A waltz is a ballroom and folk dance. The feeling is like dancing in fairytale, it is about romance and dream. You can find in the girly cartons the prince charming dancing with a girl on waltz music. thats how i mean fairytale. In contemporary ballroom dance, the fast versions of the waltz are called Viennese Waltz.

Mambo is a Latin dance of Cuban origin that corresponds to mambo music.

Samba is a lively, rhythmical dance of Brazilian origin danced under the Samba music. There is also a variety of samba dance wich each differs significantly.

Paso Doble is actually originated in southern France, but is modeled after the sound, drama, and movement of the Spanish bullfight. Paso doble means "two step" in Spanish.

Rumba is a dance organically related to the rumba genre of Afro-Cuban music.

Mambo, rhumba, and samba are latin dances. Not sure where they actually originated... you could probably check it out on Wikipedia.

Not sure about the others... I know HOW to dance many of those dances, at least the basics, but not sure where they came from. Sorry!
