Jazz better than hiphop?

Question:jazz, including techniques in flexibility, balance, etc. takes a really long time to learn, unlike hiphop which only takes one summer workshop to be a pro.

that's what i've observed. what do you think?

Both jazz and hip hop are very challenging dance styles. Although many people can just jump into hip hop no problem the best hip hop dancers have a background in the more technical aspects of dance. In my opinion jazz and ballet are the core for hip hop and without them this new style of dance would never exist.

Its all personal preference.

Even taking into account the things that you said, to some people that doesn't matter.

I personally prefer jazz of the two, but I'm not going to say its "better."

Disagree. Jazz is essentially improvisation, which one who has the required talent could naturally do.

I would have to agree however while learning hip hop isn't that hard being good at it is. I'm old and haven't danced like that since high school but I could learn any hip hop dance but I still looked like a stupid white girl even if I could do the moves! Ballet, tap and jazz were always more natural to me.

Jazz has so much more dimension that hiphop, it's well worth the time....

I like both but I do think jazz is a little harder so I think your observation is correct and I hope I could help
