-well first off, you have to do this EVERYDAY!

- what i do is a series of stretches
1. Sit in pike stretch with flex feet and pointed feet
2. Then spread you legs out to straddle, stretch to the side with pointed feet, then flex turn you body toward your leg and go down. Do both sides the stretch to middle, flexed and pointed feet.
3. Now pull your legs into butterfly. stretch over for a little. Then put your right leg over left, (left is still on the ground) and twist so you stretch your back.
4. Untwist so you are in a runner position (before they start to run). stretch there then pull the back leg up and stretch there then back to runner position and then into splits.
5. Repeat on the other side from runner position.
6. This series of stretches has helped me ALOT!

Well, my ballet teacher always tells us to eat liver. I don't know why though.

But what I do is every time I have a class I held on to a barre and just slid down. If I couldn't let go I'd just hold it for as long as barrable. But if I could let go and sit in the splits, then I'd hold it as long as possible and try to touch my toes. Basically the key is to practice every time you have a dance class.

I stretch for 1/2 an hour every night and for 10 mins of every class. Search "how to do the splits" on youtube and watch some of the videos because it's really hard to explain the stretches.

just stretch everyday and youll git it and stretch all the time and PRACTICE , PRACTICE , PRACTICE

Obviously, you know splits happens over time not over night.
Like what the other people have said you have to obviously stretch lol. But you also need DETERMINATION!!!!!
Otherwise you're gonna get lazy and not do your stretches.

ok well whatever you do to stretch in dance is what you should do at home each day and until you start your split
