Question:I would suggest both with ballet as the main study. I do ballet and I absolutely love it. It is such a graceful form of dance and requires extreme discipline. It is also more intense and will probably get you into better shape than pilates will. But, I do ballet and then every monday I have a pilates class because it is really good training for strenghth and flexibility that you need in ballet. Ballet is definitley more of a commitment than pilates but that is what I like about it.

I prefer ballet because it's more graceful and entrancing. Something about ballet just makes it more passionate and beautiful. It's also very fun, a good learning experience, and a good workout. By doing ballet, you can learn how to interact and dance with others in a unique way. You can also build muscle, gain flexibility, and improve balance.

ballet because i think it has more of a point and makes you healthier and toned than pilates..

deffenitly ballet!!.. it helps you with almost every aspect of your life... it strengthen's your body with out making it bulky giving you a great tone.. along iwht learning disapline how t be graceful and eligant... helps you with your posture and keeps you fit and healthy... i bleieve everyone should take ballet.

make sureyou take ballet at good studio because it's only benificail if you learn it right

BALLET! ballet is a great work out just as pilates is but at least when you are done with ballet, you have something to show for it...like a great routine. pilates is boring to me. ballet is overall more exciting and benificial. :]

I would say ballet because it makes you feel delicate and graceful. It also works all different muscles in your body while you're learning that is fun and interesting. It also tones your body well annd keeps you fit, and helps you learn how to be graceful and move nicely.

They're really different...

Ballet is dance. You can make something out of it, like a performance or something, but at the same time you are increasing your strength, flexibility, and gracefulness.

Pilates is more about concentration, control, but also strenghtening and flexibility. If you want to get fit pretty fast, this is the way to go
