Question:What brand of pointe shoes are the best???

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: What brand of pointe shoes are the best???

Well, as you've probably been told dozens of times, it really depends on your feet and you can have a fitiing or ask your dance teacher.

However, I do have some suggestions. A great shoe for your first time is Bloch Serenade. Experimenting will help you see what you need to look for in your next pair. If you have a low arch or a foot that isn't the strongest, I would recomend Bloch's European Balance or Axis. If you have a high arch or strong foot, I would recomend Gaynor Mindens. Because they are partly made of plastic, they are more expensive (about $100) However, with feet like this you are actually saving money, because they last more than twice as long as other shoes. They are also really comfortable (I've never had pointe shoes that I could actually say were comfortable before!) and are amazing for balancing.

Good luck!

Whatever one fits you the best.

what gina says is right, whatever fits you best. My pick is Capezio. But many that just start out like the brand Bloch because of it's wide box. I started out on Capezio because it fit me a lot better and i got a better arch. =]

well capezios are ok i guess, they are incredibly soft and die really quickly. they arent the cheapest shoes. i absolutly LOVE my grishkos, love them, love them, love them!!!!!!!!!! freeds are more for people who have been dancing for a while and have narrow feet. chaccot are comfortable, but the shank is really soft. bloch shoes buckle over in the arch and they are pretty similar to capezios. sansha is a nice stage shoe because it is really quiet. gaynor mindins last a really long time but they are partly made of plastic and are expensive.

LUCK

I use Bloch and Russian Ballet Company. Its really what fits your feet best. Good Luck.

It really depends on what fits you best. For wide feet, I would suggest Russian Pointes. For narrow feet, Grishkos are really good. go to a local store and be professionally fitted. I hope this helps you!!!!

when i danced (before i had my kids) i went with custom made pointe shoes. they were a better material fit perfectly hence custom made. and no padding. the padding hurt more than without padding for me.

btw i went on pointe at only 6 years old. have danced for 17 years. trying to get back in shape so i can dance again

the only way to determine that is to go to a specialist reputable ballet store and get properly and professionally fitted for them... I'm not quite on point but i got pretty close

It really depends on your feet and what you like best. I like capezios, some of my friends like freeds, others like grishkos or russian pointes. There's not "best pointe shoe". They're all made differently to fit different feet. What's the best shoe for me may not be the best shoe for you.
