I found Nike Cortez's and Adidas' superstars pretty good for gliding when I used to c-walk. B-boying i would just use any pair of Nike's that look good.

I find that Nike Airs and any Adidas shoe is good. I have also worn Converse Low Tops, they were okay but it depends on what floor you are dancing on.

What I used to wear are Converse high tops. If you get used to them, Converse can get extremely comfortable and awesome to dance in. The down side is that they won't absorb any shock, and they will tear and break down in about 6 months of hard work.
Now I wear a brand of shoes called Onitsuka Tigers. They're a branch from ASICS shoes. Tigers look sick and are great to dance to. You can usually only find them online and they are expensive. Here's a trustworthy site where I bought mine. If you don't like them, you can ship em back free of charge, no questions ask if you wore them only on carpet or wooden floor.

If you don't want to buy online or it's too expensive, any other sports shoes will do. Basketball and running shoes would be great. Something with ankle protection and cushioning is most likely your best bet. If you're going for look check out some Nikes or skate shoes.
