Position:Home>Dancing> Too late for pointe at 30?

Question:I danced ballet only for 5 years (from 3-8) but danced overall for 14 years (ballet, jazz, funk, dance team, lyrical, etc.) I quit 13 years ago, and recently (2 months ago) started dancing again. One of my life-long dreams was to learn pointe (I had to quit ballet after moving countries because I was very advanced for my age by comparison to the other kids there). Is it too late for me now? Do people teach adults now? I started dancing again 2.5 months ago. I dance ballet 3 hours a week now (and with hop hop and lyrical I dance 6.5 hours a week, sometimes a bit more). Is it even possible?

Another question, I know you have to have strong ankles and calves and knees (I'm working on it and definitely improving a LOT), but is there a weight issue? I am overweight. Will this stand in my way? Clearly I'd like to be thin, but regardless. I am not fat, I'm average for the USA. Any insights?
