Question:okay well im a little overweight but not fat.
i want to start dance and was wondering if dance shapes your body into a toned and awesome body!
well i know that its a silly question but i want to get healthy!
please answer especially if you are a dancer!

Yes, I'm a dancer..ballroom and a bit of ballet. Dancing is great to stay healthy. Dancing gets you tiny waistline (toned tummy) and nice toned ***. If you do ballroom dance, your arms will get stronger too. If you do ballet, your thighs and calves will be thinner too.
And if you're addicted to dancing like me, 4 hrs straight of dancing once a week will get you to lose weight fast. But you have to be darn serious w/ dancing though.

It depends on how many dance classes you are taking.
But you really should start out small; I started taking 2 then moved to three then to four. I would say that it tones your body, because I've been dancing for three and a half years and my legs are looking pretty good.

Dance, depending on what kind you do, is all about how much effort you put into it. If you don't attempt to do it correctly, you'll see almost no change in your body. If you use all the correct muscles and put a lot of effort into it, you'll see results!

YESSS!!!! if u dont wanna go to the gym like every single day to work out for hours and hours and go on lame diets and try pills and all dat. DANCING IS THE WAY TO LOSE IT! trust me, dancing is sooooo fun dat u dont even kno dat ur losing weight! and then in no time of all, u'll soon notice ur gettin abs and dats the best part of it! i mean, so painlessly and stressfree dat is! it truly beats out going to the gym every day to exercise!

Yes it will. It wasnt a silly question. I had the best body as a dancer. I took 2 classes a week. I will just say that ballet and jazz were what i took and man ballet will kick ur butt if u do it right. Make sure u eat right right as well and u will be on ur way to a bangin body!!!

it really does help. But you wont lose that much weight if u only pratice once a week. Practice on ur own also, i promise it'll make u tone. my friends want my legs bc i dance and it made my legs tone. God Bless & hav fun

Im at the dance studio five days a week. I do ballet mostly, but one day is hip-hop. All I can say for this is that my calves have amazing muscles, and my thighs are toned beyond belief. My derriere is perkier than it was before. My arms are really toned now, and my biceps are actually somewhat muscular. But the thing is, you can't just dance and expect to see results. You have to work at it, and work as hard as you can. There is this girl who came in to one of my classes because she wanted to lose weight. She never took it seriously, she never put any effort into it, and as a result, didn't lose a pound, and didn't gain a single bit of muscle. Start slow, though! I have been dancing for nine years, but in the last two years or so, I slowly added in more hours. Also, you're not going to get toned with one session. It'll take a few months. You just have to be patient. Good luck!

I was an Aussie size 8 while I was dancing and now bounce between 12-18 depending on the stress in my life...
I love to eat but my dancing meant I could do that and keep the weight off!!!! Now I have to work very hard and watch what I eat if I want to lose weight!
