Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Are they?

umm dependss if you are really into dance. I was in them for a year before i quit. (HEY AT LEAST HEELS WILLL NEVER HURT AGAIN!) congrats on the step up...literally.

GOD YES. ive done ballet for 12 years- it hurts so much, but eventually you just get over it... its an amazing feeling =]

duh yes

Pointe shoes to me are worth all the work and dedication. But if you are not totally in love with ballet; then no they may not be worth all of your work. Pointe shoes hurt your feet and they may bleed but it all pays off. When you can stand up high and feel the floor under your toes. You know most people in ballet are setting a goal to get to your skill level or higher. Pointe is amazing and definitely is worth the wait and work.

Pointe shoes aren't work at all. You just go buy them.

Dancing en pointe IS work. If you even have to ask, then you might rethink going en pointe.

no dude. no.

Sooo worth it. :)

No. Why would you go through alot of work just to have your feet look ugly.
The downside of pointe shoes:
1. Don't get to wear flip flops (feet would discust people)
2. No pedicures
3. Pains in the feet (blisters, bumps,etc..)
4. Spending more money

Good side to pointe shoes:
1. You get to be taller

People say that if your a true dancer you wear point shoes, that is SO not true. If your feet hurt don't you think your body is telling you that your feet arn't suposed to be on pointe?
A true dancer is when you dance with your heart......NOT with pointe shoes. Pointe shoes are just to make it look more "pretty".

Better off doing jazz or regular ballet, before you regret being on pointe.

So I say NO it is not worth the work.
