The answers you have received already are all correct but all never mentioned the one element that I find so important..... Balance and Weight transfer. If you do not have the correct balance or know when to transfer weight you will not tap correctly. You will be falling into your shuffles., etc. During your beginning lessons try to have a loose ankle which will help in the future with speed and cleaner taps. Also try to remember that you dance with your whole body and not just your feet. Look at the old movie dancers for style and insperation. Hope this helps,,,,,

Heel drops, toe drops. Shuffles. Things of that nature, and probably just small combinations of putting them together.

warm ups...shuffles...how to actually move in the shoe

lol have fun i love tap

taps a gret thing to get into. first you should learn about the rhythm of tap and how feircely to dance and tap your shoes in relation to the music. you should also learn about the intensity of your dancing and how it relates to your music. in other words, learn about the theory and basic principles of tap before you actually get into the movements.

def shuffles, brushes, some heel/ toe/ ball taps and heel/ ball digs. simple steps like a cramp roll? or other simple things that will be basically important for future combos and stuff. (:

hope you have fun! i know i love it! (:

u r gonna learn shuffles and flaps but nothin advanced its pretty easy dont worry!!!

→Heel, Ball and Toe drops/hits
→Shuffles
→Front Slaps, Back slaps

Have fun with the class!

shuffles
flaps
flap-heels
brushes
riffs
paddles
draw-backs
pull-backs
wings
time steps (3 basic time steps)
cramp rolls
maxi fords
bostons
cincinnaties

those are pretty much all of the things we warm up with...
but you'll probably only do shuffles, shuffle hops, flaps, and flap heels in your first lesson or so.

Dig heel, shuffles, ball change, cramp rolls, time step, flaps, spank backs, heel cross heel down.
If you have never had tap before stay on the balls of you're feet. If things get hard don't give up keep on working hard. you're teacher will have the class we these for about a month, so you can get all you're sounds in.

Good luck!!
