Question:i REALLY want to be able to do the splits! but yet i can't:(
does anyone have any suggestions on how to learn?? i need to learn for dance, fast!!

dont stress :)
splits are easy you just have to find your flexibility
take a hot bath once you get out your muscles will be loose
then do the butterfly strech
streth a lot
turn on the tv and slowly go down in your spilts and just enjoy the tv
if that doesn't work
take two chairs and do your spilts on them put them about 3 feet apart and just do your spilts
youll get it in no time

Some people just CAN'T do them. I've tried for years, and I've never been able to do them.

Just keep stretching, but slowly - don't force yourself down into splits straight away cause you'll pull a muscle or injure yourself.

Slowly push a bit further each time you do it and stretch everyday. It's not something that can happen overnight so be patient and don't overdo it!

Try doing half splits on each side, then combine 'em

Just stretch. sit in straddle with your stomach facing the wall and try to get the side of your face to lay against it. Or lay on your back in straddle. Gravity will try to pull your legs to the floor.

When I was in martial arts at age 12, I was able to do it by constant practice because I needed to kick high. Try practicing it everyday and go lower each day inch by inch. It will take you probably 2 months.

every night for a whole month, stay in your socks and spread your legs to the side while supporting your self on something. Also repeat this proccess a few time each night, it also helps to strech in the morning as thats when your at your tightest.

Stretch everyday. Little by little start doing your splits, have someone help push you down a little more each day. Remember don't over stretch it could damage your muscles.
Ask your dance teacher if she has any tips on how to do splits.

You know it is true some people aren't able to do it, but mainly it is the fact that the tendons and muscles just need to be worked out in the thigh and groan area. I would recommend practicing at least every night to loosen up the area. I use to be able to do them within a flash. Now that I grew up and got older and stopped working out, I can barely keep my legs straight.

I can do them.....All you have to do is keep holding yor leg in the air (at your side and balance on one foot) and then switch feet. Then work on stratell splits. Then cart wheels if you can and last handstand with your legs apart(have a friend hold them apart). Then you'll be able to do a split (your legs will be stretched enough to do one) good luck!

Strech. It will take aeoud 3 weeks but you basically nedd to strech your legs by doing lunges, toe touches, plee-ai's, and other steching stuff.
Put your left or right foot in front then put the other in the back. Put your hands on the floor and try to kiss your Knee.Do this with both legs.

Put your left or right foot in front then slide your other foot back bending your front knee and making shure it front dosn't goes over you foot. then try to put your elbows on the flow then kiss your hands. (do on both legs)

Sit on your Bum and spred your legs out beside you.Lean to each leg(streching your arm out with your body)then then to the middel(10 seconds each) Then Kiss your knees, and in the middel try to kiss the floor.

There you go that should cover it do that each day and you'll get your splitys in 3 weeks.

it's ok if you can't do them, it's ok. no one's judging you...
if you really need to do them, practice everyday, holding your splits for two minutes (stretch first!). and eventually you will get them. (you can do it more than everyday if necessary)

If you want to cartwheels your going to need a bigish carpeted place. To do a cartwheel you just have to put down your left hand stick up your right leg , put down your right hand and move your body while your putting down your left leg.

To do a handstand put your hands on the floor and your legs and back against a wall.

It took me forever to learn how to do the splits but you have to practice everyday and push yourself to split further.

well you don't really learn how to do the splits it is more like you just have to stretch everyday. Trust me i am really stiff just to get my splits i had to stretch every single day for about a month and still if i don't stretch everyday then i will loose them.
