"Freestyle", video tape yourself, and look at it and see what you did. And then you have choreography.

Choreography comes from improvisation (or "freestyling") so improvise and just dance without thinking about it at all, and see what you come up with. The only problem is remembering what you did when you were improvising. That's where video taping can come in.

I'm sure your teacher will give you some help with choreographing.

go to you tube and do a search for dance

Tips:

Cheoregraph simple phrases first, and teach it to the dancers, then start blocking.

Try to picture what you want with your eyes closed. It really helps.

When choosing music, don't choose anything that has no variation. I've never heard either of those songs, so I really woulnd't know if those would work.

Be able to realize that if you don't like something, you can always change it. Just because you already taught it to the dancers doesn't mean that it's set in stone.

I don't know if you need help with the beginning (I usually start off knowing what the beginning looks like), but don't make the beginning too busy. Save the stuff that makes the eye want to look in several different places for the middle of the dance.

Hpe it helps!
