well.... I am naturally flexible so I got all 3 easily. but its different for others. just stretch everyday and keep practicing!! you can do it! never give up! =]

the more u practice the faster

i'm 35 and still trying.

no it dosent take a long time just stretch your groin muscles everyday soon as you know youll be doing the splits
or
you could join martial arts like taekwondo it works your legs so you become flexiable thats what i did and im now captain of varsity cheerleading!

its not the learning part its getting your body to be that flexible. If you strech often than you can be able to do it faster.

what happens is it depends on how you are born. if you have naturally flexible legs then its easier. if your not then you have to exercise your muscels and they will mature into a flexible muscel. i know because i had to exercise my leg when i wanted to join my hip hop team. i takes at least 3-5 wks to get that muscle to be as flexible as the regular splitter... you got me????
P.S you only stretch to your limit. if you try to hard, you might pull something... Then it'll take longer to learn.

It really just depends on what your level of flexibility is when you start trying to do the splits. If your muscles are really tight it may take a little longer than someone who muscles are naturally loose. If you stretch at least 15-20 minutes a day, after you have done some type of warm-up, I am sure that you will start to see results soon. The biggest thing to remember is that you have to be consistent in your stretching. That is the only you will see results. Good luck!

The name split dance comes from the habit that the performers split up in two (or more) groups, one entering the stage from the left, the other from the right, until the two meet in the centre and merge into one or more rows. The performers are always girls, it is rare that boys will join.

The dance movements are in essence very simple and limited. Most of the work, making supple, beautiful posures, is done by the hands and the head. The body remains quite stiff, and except for an occasional step or a kneeling, the legs are not much used either.

hey x no it dosn't take that long providing you practice every day. Even if you just have a stretch when watching the telly. and i you want to learn how to do the box splits lie on your back next to a wall and open your legs as if you were doing the splits up against the wall. Gravity will naturally make them go out further. But for the normal splits just stretch and then go into the splits and hold you will go further every day. x

It depends on how flexible you are naturally. If you are very flexible naturally, you will probably have the splits down within a week. If not, it will probably take about a month.

If you want to join a dance team, you'll need to practice and stretch daily. Make sure that you stretch before you start dancing. You'll need to stretch every day and you should probably stretch for at least ten minutes at a time. You will probably get your splits down within a couple of weeks, but like I said before, it depends on your natural flexibility. But I'm sure you'll get it down soon and you're probably a good dancer. You will definitely improve with practice!

Good luck!
