Step Up Dance?

Question:Okay, so i just watched Step Up 2, and ever since I saw the first movie I've wanted to learn how to dance like they do. Does anyone know what the type of dancing done in the two movies, would technically and professionally be called?

I'm thinking a jazz and hip-hop...but I'm not sure.

its mostly hip hop dancing in the first movie but its mixed with ballet ( i dont think it has its own name thats what make it "appealing" is that its a mix of to "unrealated" styles) but the second movie has the same basic dancing as the first movie but it also has elements or "Krumpin'" and bboyin(bboyin is commonly referred to as breakdancing but its propper name is bboyin) but the bboyin in the movie focused mainly on "power moves" (repeditive moves in bboyin which requirer alot of stength an power hence the name) not the style and dance of bboying they also show a lot of poppin and a little flexing so yeah those are the basic dances in the 2 films

if you look on youtube "gyrate dance" theres these girls with awesome moves. but its hard to copy... believe me.

she usually wears riverdance shoes, but dances more like jazz or modern... its quite weird. but looks awesome... i think its sort of a combination of a lot, coz u can totally tell shes doone ballet when shes dancing, but she doesnt seem very hiphop -y...
