Well, gymnastics can IMPROVE your dancing. Figure skating seems to be off topic but can be a new change. Which do you want?

Personally I would do gymnastics. I've been dying to do that for years now. I just can't find a decent class.

I think you should do Gymnastics. But be careful, because it could be dangerous. You just have to trust your instructor and practice, you'll do fine.

Unless your really gifted I would take gymnastics. Figure skating landings are extremly bad on your ankles and knees. Walking without pain in your late 20's would be nice.

Think of your future and what may come in handy in your future life. Dancing is good, you may want to stick with that. I know i always wish i could dance better than my 2 step stumble.

Probably figure skating ... it'll be a change from being on ground ... lol.

Gymnastics is probably more safer. I mean, if someone fell down on skates, their skate could slip up in the air and cut your throat. (That happened recently) You could die.
But, I think skating is much much more fun. But remember, you can't practice skating in your backyard if you don't have a pond. If you do, it has to be frozen. Gymnastics is easy to practice because you can do it anywhere at any time.

if u plan doing dancing proffesionally not figure. it is dangerous and could injure u.
the gym sounds good cos it will stretch ur muscles etc

either one probably requires more training to be serious with than you will probably be willing to give considering you are already fourteen. but if you just want to have fun with it. i would suggest figure skating. cuz gymnastics is kind of more serious in my opinion

figure skating is reaaaaaaallly boring trust me, i quit on the first level. my sister enjoys gymnastics and it looks really fun. i think gymnastics is safer tthan figure skating cuz you have to twirl and stuff. Yeah, so i think u should do gymnastincs youll enjoy it.

Well, as a past gymnast and a sister of a figure skater (I'm now an Irish dancer...go figure), I would say that there are goods to both sides.

Gymnastics is fun, but it is actually extremely dangerous. There are so many crazy things that screw up so many muscles. Many don't recover. Saw it happen to so many girls. It's a good muscle builder, but tell you the truth, the stamina building is very...not there. I got that from Irish dancing. ;-)

Figure Skating is not half as dangerous as people are putting out there. It is NOT boring (I took a class because my sister said I have to...the face plants didn't hurt NEARLY as much as I thought they would. It was fun, I just don't have it). The skates can do things, but if you think about it, there are so many more dangerous sports out there. Contrary to what was said, it is not off on a tangent from dancing. Both are really just extensions of the other. I know many dancers who skate to improve balance, control and such, and many skaters who take dance to improve form and artistic/fluid skating. The most dangerous part of ice skating is the not the knife on the bottom of your foot, but the stupid nicks in the ice. I can only think of two skaters who received SERIOUS injuries from an ice skating blade. That's not the most dangerous part. And really, they're very sharp, but skaters are actually trained in falling so that their blades are away from everything on their body. When a skater begins falling, they change the way they fall so that they don't hurt themselves.

They're both dangerous, so don't go off that. I'd actually go on what you need to improve on in dancing. Which would be more beneficial to you? Would you rather have monster muscles or would your rather have some other more artistic sport? Do you mind being in the cold? (Once you start skating, the cold goes away).

Pick for yourself. Not from someone else. :-)

gymnastics. skating is cold and dangerous if you slam your head on the ice.
and you have to wear those stupid lycra skirt leotard things

i say go eith gymnastics. i do dance and acro(saem as gymnastics) if you find a dance studio that has acro avalible you should do it there b/c they throw in some dance moves normally! i love it!

I would definately do gymnastics...it will improve your dancing AND if you wanna do cheerleading in high school, you will already know how to do flips and stuff, so you will have a much better chance of getting on the squad...well good luck with which ever one you choose!!! :)
