Yes dance should be considered as a sport because you have to move. Also you get some fitness. So i think that dancing is a sport and should be considered!!!!!

Depends, certainly due to the competition and athleticism required, but if you want to view it as a form of artistic expression, it would not fit as well into a sport category which connotes winning and having a goal other than the aesthetic.

it sort of depends... i think its an understatement to call it a sport because it really is much harder that most sports. dance is an ART. some people say that only competition dancing is a sport but i still wouldnt think of it as a sport.

yes it requires lots of movements and helps u stay healthy and to burn calories.

Yes, it should be. But it is also an art form. It is a sport because you are constantly moving and getting excersise. It is an art form because you are creating something when you are dancing.

yes i think so because when you dance most of the time you use all your body and ive created lots of muscle from dancing i dance like non stop all day no matter where i am ive also lost a couple pounds by dancing

Yes, it should be and it is. Dance isn't a get down in the mud sport. It's an athletic art.

of course.

I think it should! It really burns my daughter when she can't play volleyball well in PE, but has been dancing for 13 years! Let's see if the football players can do what she does!

no. it's an art.

yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. YES! im tired of everyone saying "oh, dancing isnt a sport. its not hard-core. its not HARD ENOUGH." hmm..... i think its hard enough. ballet is so painful, yet the dancers make it look so beautiful. jazz is so hard - the moves need to look smooth, yet they need to have attitude. tap requires fast thinking - all the shuffling and stomping. the combination of moves is extremely hard - you need to have perfect rhythm. hip hop - you need to be smooth, yet sharp. if that makes ANY sense. you need the coordination to make everything flow, to make everything look....... AMAZING! and break dancing requires kind of the same as hip hop. smooth, yet sharp. DANCING IS A SPORT! its s sport!!!
