Question:Would sitting with me legs as opened wide as they can open make me more flexible and able to do a split? If not, any suggestions as to how i can become more flexible and learn a split?

No, thats a straddle but its still a kind of slpit. A "real" split is a right or a left, with a right u have ur right leg in front with ur hips facing the front as much as possible. To help with ur flexibily, jsut try to warm up ur muscles, by wearing legwarmers or something warm when u warm up preferably around the thingh area, but calfs will work too. Just try to do butterflys and lounges and plies. Hope u get ur splits!!

that just makes you better at a stradle. To do a split, you have to have one leg front, and one back.

Sitting in a butterfly position helped me do a split...don't know wht but it did. I kept pressing my legs down and i eventually got there.

sitting like that will help you with your straddle and center splits but not with left or right splits. Just keep trying and eventually they will get better
