Question:I am finding pole tricks are very difficult to do? Any tips?
I started the pole dancing fitness and its great! But even after so much practice, I cant seem to get myself in the air and perform pole spins. Do any dancers who can do spins have any advice for me? Like what muscles to use and to tone?
I mean spins while the pole is in static mode

The stronger your arms are the better. I got up to the top of the pole one time and it was amazing. I got the pole spinning and it makes you feel like your flying. i used to use the tip of my boot to get traction to climb with, my legs werent in that great of shape and i grabbed with my arms pulled myself up and basically just climbed it like a rope. I have seen women who can rip the pole in half (not literally) and do some pretty amazing whipping around acrobatics. there was one girl at the club where I danced and she is about 125 lbs, maybe less, skinny as a rail, she gets a hold of the pole, jumps up wraps her body around the pole upside down, and just spins like a madwoman, we call her the pole woman, she never gets dizzy and she's tone as can be. She's an amazing dancer but she works out alot, the stronger your arms, legs and abs are the better, your using your entire body to dance not just legs. Like i've said a million times, dancing is hard work. It takes a lot of practice. and thanks to the person who said that dancers earn every dollar they get, WE appreciate that!!! Edward S, thanks for the comment!!!

well u have to be like 5 pounds to do that and tone ur *** it worked 5 me

an audience gives that edge you need for a perfect performance. can i watch ?

Mmmm I think this q is only for women, but wow I love watchin them dance :)

I know I couldn't do it, but to watch strippers on the pole drives me wild. I don't know how they do it, but they deserve every dollar they get.

I have the same problem, you just have to keep working at it, and there are still some moves I can't pull off. A couple of great and easy work outs are to;

Stand a couple of feet away from the pole, facing it. Fall towards the pole and catch yourself with both hands, elbows pointing out. Then push yourself back to standing. The further you are from the pole, the harder the workout. It really works for the granny flap!

Another is to do ballet type streches. Stand beside the pole using it for support. Extend your outer leg out to your side, keeping the knee parallel to the floor and then bring your outer foot to your inner knee. At the same time, bend the inner knee so that you are working that thigh aswell. You can do this is the side, front and back, repeat until unable to stand! lol

Other than that, do ALOT of yoga and pilates because arms, shoulders and abs are essential.
