What is your favorite thing about Ballet?

Question:My favorite thing is when you accomplish something that you have worked really hard for! I LOVE that feeling of the "Yes! I did it!" Now I want to know what your favorite thing is? My other favorite thing is Jumps! I love being able to jump high! Its almost like flying. Haha

When I first started dancing, I never expected to love dance as much as I do now. I never expected it to be my passion. Every time I dance, I find something different to love about it. More than anything, I want to get up on stage and perform, I want to look into the audience and see them enjoying it as much as I am. I love that I can always count on ballet, when everything else is screwed up, I can dance and it's the same. It's still the same beautiful, classic dance it always has been.

That's why I love dance...I can't live without it anymore!

I like that it is a dance that I could actually do.

The unexpected and spontaneous applause the audience gives after a really good performance of a pas de deux, variation, or group dance...it is my "drug of choice" THere is nothing on the planet to match it.

Mastering the turns from one part of a room diagonally to the next.

- and in Modern dance, when a group of us performed Silent Night for an audience, and I turned and found that we were all on the same beat.

When the teacher sees you do something good, like, "Whoa! That's how a dancer should be!" or something like that.

It's magic. That's what attracted me to ballet. It's beautiful.

the thing about ballet as opposed to any other style of dance is the focus that goes with it. you absolutely HAVE to stay focused during ballet, and that's what i like best. and you don't even think about focusing...you just do. in my other classes, some of the girls tend to screw around and it drives me nuts. but not in ballet.

another thing i really like is kinda what the OP said. to me there's something about accomplishing something in ballet that's different from accomplishing something in any other dance form such as jazz or lyrical. to me it seems more meaningful in ballet.

it makes u feel so graceful and pretty when you do it...sometimes it makes me feel like im on a cloud and its very challenging so it makes u think hard!

My favorite thing about ballet is also when you get something that you have been working at but when it comes to dance moves I like jumps. I LOVE fouettes they are sooo much funn.
