Is it gay for boys to do dancing?

No it is not gay to be a dancer, especially Hip Hop. I met my husband dancing and he is not gay, we were ballroom partners. It's not that dancing is gay, it's just that a lot of gay guys are dancers because it is an artistic and creative pursuit and this suits many gay guys just like hairdressing etc. Personally I think it is more gay to be a footballer who rolls around in the dirt with other guys and then they all shower together, than it is to take a woman in your arms and dance.

If you want to do it, that's fine. I personally find it kind of gay, but if you want to do it, more power to you, and I wouldn't think less of you for it. It's also a good way to meet lots of women.

There are tons of male dancers. Anyone who says it's gay is an idiot. I know gay men with two friggin' left feet, so dancing is not a gay thing.

i dont think so at all... and especially since your doing hip-hop thats not gay at all. i mean people might think that it would be gay if your doing ballet in a tutu but the people at my school that do take dance and aernt called gay and you especially wouldnt since your doing hip-hop... thats what i think.. people might even respect you more for it because to non-dancers hip-hop is not the easiest thing ever

nahh. There's some guys at my studio. Beginner hip-hop is kinda boring, though. Maybe try taking some other classes too. and btw-you have to be pretty strong to be a male dancer. But good for you for wanting to be different!!

hey there no problem dancing it's not gay it's impossible to be gay everyone dance just when there in there room or at home when no one is around so they don't fell bad look my cousin his a hip hop dancer and everyone except him because it's juste your talent if you have the talent to dance then go for it i know that i will never dance because i really suck at dancing but come on if you want to dance then go head and go find class or go by the moves you see on tv just go have fun do what you like to do and don't lison to the other around you if you want to do it thats fine go for it and some day you could be a famous dancer or hiphop dance teacher or there lots more option all im trying to say if it want you want to do go do it before it to late.

Not in the least. It's those who can't dance... or don't want to even try to dance who may say something like that... because they don't want someone else to do something that they can't or won't do.

Everyone needs a passion in life! You should always have something to do that you really enjoy... or be looking to find your passion.

You should do what YOU want to do!! Don't let others decide for you. I'd rather try something and realize it's not for me than to regret never giving it a try.

Well, I think girls like guys who can dance. Think of the Zach Effron guy and how girls like him. Yes, the guys will mock you, but you will have revenge after you get more girlfriends.

no. i love guys that can dance. even if people do make fun of you, why do you care what they think? they're probably just jealous and insecure about their own dancing. hiphop is probably is probably one of the more "guy popular" dance genres, meaning that its a more common type of dance for guys to learn as opposed to something like ballet or tap. if you've ever watched so you think you can dance, there are lots of amazing hiphop dancers that are guys. there used to be these two boys in my hiphop class last year. no one in my class made fun of them. they were good and thats all that mattered- gender didn't. so if you want to, i'd say go for it. you'll have lots of fun and thats all that matters.

ok that is the worst stereotype everrr!!! puhlease do it!!! dance is what i love most in the world and i love that you are interested and not even thinking about the stereotype. and plus (this sounds horrible) guys that do hiphop are never the ones considered gay. but beware once u get into hiphop u will b tempted to do everything else. but thats beside the point for now. my bff (who happens to b a guy) is a dancer---he does tap and hiphop and recently began contemperary but he is not considered gay by any1. plus hiphop will make u more confident at dancing at just a party and stuff and girls love that so they will not think it is weird when u tell them that u dance. okeedokee then.

OMG NO WAY! any guy that has guts to dance and put up with the ppl making fun of him is totally AWESOME!

No way, dancing is in no shape or form 'gay'. Dancing takes a lot of skill and effort and can be just as physically demanding as any other kind of sport.
If you want to do hip hop then I wouldn't imagine it would be perceived as gay - think of Usher and Justin Timberlake, they certainly know how to dance and no one accuses them of being homosexual!
Besides, its important for you to do what you love and not care what anyone else thinks!

anyone who says guys doing dancing is gay!! it is not just a womens sport, would you call a guy doing ice skating gay?? i know i wouldn't. there is alot of need 4 guys in dancin nowadays. so i say go 4 it.
