I don't know what you are describing, but it isn't Dancesport. Many ballroom dance competitions are Dancesport competitions. It is what you see the professional ballroom dancers doing.

America's Ballroom Challenge on PBS is considered Dancesport as are most ballroom dance competitions.

Maybe what you saw was a variation where they competitors were being judged on figures like they do in figure skating. I've never seen what you are describing in my almost 8 years in ballroom dancing.

You mean the ballroom shope manufacturer? Me! Not only are their products shoddy, I used to have to custom order them for customers at our dance shoppe, and they were completely unreliable.

Do you mean dancesport? (ballroom & latin) Or something else?

I dont know how you can hate it! my life is centered around it, training, travelling to competitions, joking around with your dance partner, getting to wear amazing dresses...........

I presuming you have never been involved with the competitive dancesport scene which is why you dont understand how great it is

I'm only familiar with the Capezio line of Dancesport ballroom shoes, and I'm not a huge fan of Capezios, especially since they moved their factories to china. All of the shoes fit like crap now. A canvas Cobra shoe in the M width fits WIDER than the old wide. It sucks. And their ballroom line is going the same way. Ick.
