No! Vegetarian will not give you the protein your body needs to build strong muscles and dancers definitely need the muscle strength.

The BEST way to eat is a balanced healthy diet. You can always reduce portion sizes to manage your weight, though at your age, be careful not to get too thin or you'll compromise your bone and muscle strength which can cripple you down the road.

Lots of vegetables and fruit. There's no such thing as too many vegetables. Fruit has lots of sugar but also has fiber and lots of antioxidants which help your skin look good and fight cancer, so a few a day is good too. Juice is all sugar. Skip it.

Lean protein sources like chicken, fish and lean meats. Eggs, dairy and nuts are also excellent for your body.

Carbohydrate sources should be high quality. This means no white bread, potatoes or pasta, but there are whole grain versions of bread, rice, pastas and yellow and red potatoes that all offer good nutrition. There's also a wide variety of other grains like barley, flax, quinoa that are good for you and tasty.

What doesn't work is junk - fast food (everything at McDonald's has sugar in it...seriously everything but the french fries!), soda (even diet is bad for you)), donuts, etc. An occasional sweet is fine, but keep it "occasional."

Eat a good breakfast with protein, like eggs or oatmeal (the real thing, not the sugary instant stuff). That will help you stay full so you won't want to snack on junk, and will help you concentrate better in school.

With six dance classes a week, you shouldn't have to worry about calories because you burn a lot, plus you are still growing!

Just learn to eat healthy food now and it will all work out for you.

How about no diet! Live your life as a care free kid as long as you can

u shouldn't b on a diet ur 2 young! but if u want 2 u should eat protien(meat) veggies &fruit GOOD LUCK!

I think the fact that you have ballet 6 times a week is enough to say that you dont need any diet. You are just a 13 old girl...dont start a diet at this age Im sure 100 % that you dont need it ..I think that diets are stupid things just for me..I think that we should eat everything but not much

i am a dancer too and my teacher always says to eat a balanced diet meat and vegetables as well as fruits. basically just stay away from fattening foods. good luck!

Honey, im in the same exact position as u!! Im thirteen and dance six days a week! And even though i know im thin, i always feel the need to be on some sort of diet so i dont gain weight. Look for a book called : The Dancers Body Book. Its a bit old fashion, but really good! Also, vegetarian is NOT the way to go! Not only is it hard, but us dancers need our protein!! Dont give up meat unless u really really feel bad for animals! I guess for now just stay off snacks and starchy foods. NO JUNK FOOD!!! i no its hard... we r still growing, but honestly sometimes that junk contains lyk 500 calories! Drink alot and chew gum wen u get a craving! Good luck!

Diet? no way! not a 13. Just be sensible about it, balanced eating, include fruit, veg, cereals, dairy and meats. Definatley not vegetarian, you loose out on too much at your age and with ballet 6 time a week definetley not. Always eat breakfast though and drink plenty of water. Good Luck xx

Just Eat healthy, dont diet. Your growing and need all your nutrients.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO DIET!!!! I dance and I eat all of the time and never gain any weight. Going on a diet could be dangerous to your health. You need to eat!!!!

no! dont go veggie. you will loose much needed protein. just eat healthily. fruit, veg, some meat, carbs and sweets for treats now and then! basically eat healthily!
