Position:Home>Dancing> Split leap!? and turns in seconde? any help?

Question:mine is very bad
and i have to have it good in a few weeks
ive been practicing it sooo much
and really working on my middle splits(i have left and right) because i know that will help
but its not improving....
any other good tips on getting this higher and more "out"
p.s.(my toe-touches suck really bad too, so, is there any hope?lol)

also. my dance teachers get on to me and say my problem with my turns in seconde are that i have way too much power
ive been really trying to tone it down as much as possible, but if youve ever had this problem, then u know how hard it is to lose power! any tips on that?

and plz dont say practice or keep ur postrue and arms good and neat, because thats been drilled in my head since i was 3!
oh, and also they say my spotting is perfect and i dont really travel too much so thats not my problem either
thanx! =)

On your prep before your spit leap you should make sure you have a big plie (dont know if spelling is right) then you jump. try to pop your legs when you get to the top. You should also try to have a perfect needle. To do this you must keep your legs together and put your hands on the ground in front of your feet. Now kick one of your legs in the air and try to have a perfect spit like that. this is like doing a split on an invisible wall.
when you have this it will be easier for you to have your perfect spit leap because you can control the movement of your split in the air.
I tried my best so stretch everyday=)

you can turn better by have a larger plie again. think of the turn as a pulled up relevae. Use your hands to help you. On your prep make sure your balance is on the middle. look at your self in the mirror and make sure your foot is on full demi point Report It
