Position:Home>Dancing> Where can I practice tap dancing?

Question:I just started a new tap dancing class this semester, but it is only twice a week. So of course I need to practice. But what would be a safe place (for my $65 shoes) to practice? Would the linoleum in my dorm room be okay? I don't think the gym here would have place for me to practice.

PS do you know any good songs to practice to?

Thanks so much!

The floor in your dorm is perfect.
But after take a warm damp wash cloth
and clean the soles of your shoes trust
me they will last longer if you do this everytime you
finish dancing.

I would practice on vinyl or linoleum floor because it is least likely to scuff your shoes. For songs, try just finding an upbeat mix. I love Jelly's Jam for tap, I did a routine to it last year and it is fast and good for doing advanced timesteps. I hope I helped. Good luck!

I got my dad to give me a 4X4 sq. ft. board of good hardwood that i can put right onto my carpet and move when i need too. Good music to tap to is anything with a good, continuous fast beat.. try some old musical music!

there is a place in old town conyres by the library.
