Position:Home>Dancing> What style of belly dancing does Jenna use in her DVD, Bellydance: Basics and Be

Question:I have yet to buy it and I was wondering what type of dancing she uses. I'm really interested in Egyptian.

On her official site, I've read she's interested in Egyptian, Turkish, and North African. In her DVD, though, what style does she mainly use?

Like, for instance, the Veena and Neena videos are all Egyptian. I LOVED their videos and have them all. I'm trying to find similar DVD's.

I bought Jenna's DVD awhile ago. I really like it, even better than the Veena and Neenea DVD's that I have. In the DVD I think she is using mostly Egyptian style. (sometimes the differences can be quite subtle) She gives instructions on how to do the movements that are most common in various styles of belly dance.

If you are talking about her Basics and Beyond DVD, then it's just a basic repitoire of movements common to middle eastern dance. It seems to me like she is doing american cabaret, possibly egyptian. I really think, because it is so basic, that it is a slew of styles. I'm not sure if she does a dance on that DVD. Generally though, those moves look like they would be part of American Cab. I hope this helps.
