I really don't know the answer to your question but I do personally feel Dance is universal language of expression and dance historically comes from a variety of cultures and all types or styles of dance are created from it.If you have some dance moves or styles you can contribute to the dance world I think there are lots of fellow dancers who would appreciate you sharing your history and culture with them and there are lots of dance studio's who look for teachers all the time http://www.danceart.com/jobboard.htm http://www.dance.net/

You're right about the number of Ukrainian and Russian dancers. The dances, though, are British, and one of the five isn't even based on anything from a Latin area, so what's the gripe?

From what I remember from commentary during the Olympics, Dancing and musical appreciation has always been a culturally important part of Russians' lives. The state stressed it in a younger's education.

Because ukrainians and russians historically have a deep appreciation for the music, are very competitive and have a long history of providing excellent technical dance training.

and why they are not Latino? Because Latin America has access to authentic dances. Latin ballroom is a formalized version of what they already dance in their countries and they have no reason to train themselves to dance a formalized version of the real thing.
