Here is a list of songs I came up with that shows the negative spirit you are describing:

1). "Everybody Hurts" - R.E.M.
2). "Sad" - Pearl Jam
3). "I Hate Everything About You" - Ugly Kid Joe

It would be cool to do a montage of songs related to the same depressing topic. Good luck!
