I think that people are closed minded about the whole situation, but I feel that as long as you praise the lord keep dancing and express yourself to him that way. Besides everyone expresses themselves differently when it come to Church. KEEP ON DANCING FOR THE LORD!!!

Because born agains are against anything that may be fun... it may be some stupid "tool of the devil"...

Please... Church is for prayer and homage to our lord, dance at your local pub or dance hall.

I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST DISCO-CHURCHES

Easy there footloose.

come to church and well help explain it

this is not new, it has been this way for over 1000 years.

The following is from my Grandmother in 1966 when i ask that same question.

"dancing is seen as the devils play, not for Christians. Your having men and women touch and they shouldn't only in the bed room and only if married. sinful."

i think it's fine, the lord knows whats in your heart. If you feel like dancing and praising him, go ahead. Me, I can't stand worship....it's so sappy, but I love Christian rock...I can rock out to god and he knows that I love him and praise him, i just prefer to dance and rock out while I praise..

Have you been watching "Footloose" again ?

there is a form of dance, liturgical, created specifically for use in churches. my church doesn't ban dancing, but they also do not encourage it. the church is too small to accomidate dancers. i believe if done in a tasteful manner, it can be a great way to relay the messages.

Let us consider the reverence that has been a part of the religious history of main stream Euro centric societies. Many mainstream religions have grown to express their faith through quiet meditation and reserved praise. Historically speaking, this was done to contrast the so called heathens who practiced various form of animated worship prior to being subjugated to European standards. Remnants of this philosophy remain today and may be loosely connected to 1 Corinthians 14:23 which cites the importance of conducting an orderly service as it relates to speaking in "tongues". Which, in many cases may have included rhythmic body movements as the faithful immersed themselves in the Holy Spirit to experience a deeper connection to Christ. However, since all things are known to God and the purity of ones heart and sincerity of their actions are the foundation for their relation with Christ, praise God in any biblically sound manner which you feel inspired to practice.

Dancing in church is no problem. People dance in the street, yards, clubs, etc. We also dance in our homes.Individuals conflict because dancing should be left at clubs, strip clubs or anywhere else except churches. Dancing may be more of a sexual stimulation.

Do you go to church and to clubs? I know you wouldn't do the same dances at clubs than you would do a t church. I love to watch women dancing in both activities. Their Breast be going Up and Down while Jumping/ And your *** be Jiggiling while moving around! When people have a problem with that then they the One who have a problem. /

The Bible also states, in Ecclesiastes, that "there is a time for dance." I have fought this fear of dancing frustrating in all the years I taught dance class. I can understand why some jazz moves could be objectionable, and some couples dancing similar to sex, but ballet and tap and lyrical jazz are non-sexual. I think that the fundamentalists churchgoers simply fear the joy that you get from moving to music. They are generally against any joy from any source besides ridiculously mumbling in tongues. Some churches even ban church music. I think it is a fear that if people find joy in something besides going to church, that they may completely abandon the church.
