Question:I am currently on demi pointe and will soon go on pointe. I own a pair of demi pointe shoes (pointe shoes without the shank) and they are already broken in. I was wondering if anyone had some ideas for exercises I can do in my demi pointe shoes to help prepare me for pointe. I have been dancing for almost 10 years, so its not like i have weak ankles or anthing. Thanks!!!

Overall stretch everything, especially your calves. I'm not familiar with demi pointe shoes, but when I was in pre-pointe i practiced rolling from a flat first up to a high releve. I repeated in 2nd, 4th, and 5th positions. I also did the same with the foot either in passe or coupe. try doing fondues. All of these will continue to strengthen your ankles and calves and prepare you for pointe. Good luck, the practice is worth it ( :
