point shoes aren't just shoes, they are your own feet. and yes, this is a very beautiful quote. it's about the difference between instruments, tools (the points serves as tools as long as you can do all kind of unusual technical things with them - releve, piruetes ) and the real feeling which "says" to you that you don't have shoes or tools in your feet, but in steed of that, you have extensions of your own body; so you must reach this extraordinary way of thinking, you must feel that points are part of your body, are part of yourself, they become naturals as your body is. they become something which belongs to you naturally, and then, points don't need to be dominated by you every day, because they are yours.

it's a very nice principle, but it's very difficult to be reached. i believe that only the great great dancers have the opportunity to feel such things and to understand this way of functioning.
