Ya that trick is hard. I don't do hip hop or break, but I had to do something similar for a tap dance. What we did to practice is:
~Stand at the barre or the edge of a countertop
~Hold your leg like he was (holding left foot with right hand and having the knee turned out) Hold the barre with your left hand for balance
~Leave the left leg in the bent position, but let go of it so that it is in the air. Practice jumping up and leaving the left leg in the same position but moving the right leg over it. Now your left leg should be bent in the air behind your right. Keep practicing
~Once you can do this, try without using the barre for support
~Eventually you will build muscle memory and leg strength and should try doing it while holding your foot. It is a lot harder because the right leg has to come up and bend more to get through the hole made by your right arm and left leg

I hope I helped. I know its confusing but with practice I'm sure you can get it down. It's a real crowd pleaser (in my tap dance we did 8 in a row and it was tiring but fun) Good luck!
