gaynor mindens are DEFIANTLY the best shoes. They specially make them for the best fit for your foot. They are also the quietest shoes too, because if you do jumps, or something they are sooo much quieter than Russians or Capizeo or Bloch. They rock! The best kind of toe pads are Gellows. Ouch pouches stink! Gellows are good because they are double sided so one side is a sock and one side is gel. I put baby powder in the gel side so it doesn't wear down (it says to on the package) When I put it on my toes, I put it ON TOP OF my tights. It works really good and also you can feel the floor ( like you are supposed to) and you can still be comfortable in your shoes. Ouch Pouches are so thin they crunch my toes every time I use them and it feels like there is no padding. This is just my opinion

I really liked the pink gel pads (sorry forgot the name) with Bloch Serenades. I'm trying some new shoes now because my foot is too long for the Serenades to fit right, so I hope it works out.

i think Russian Pointes r the best (located in Chicago)

-u have to call to set up an appointment
-u can also call them and have them send u a pair

And gellows r my favorite toe pads. they have a gel side, and a sock like side, and u can flip it open and u get 2-in-1 toe pads! (Russian Pointes has them too)
but if u don't live in Chicago or near it, and ure afraid to order online or on teh phone, then try "Capezio"s or "Blocks". their really famous. first try capezio, then blocks. blocks r my last choice! the dancers i no, hate htem, and their feet ache really bad!
anyways, hope this info helps u out!

The best toe pads are definitely Ouch Pouches, by Bunheads. They are a cloth material and they are great. Everyone at my dance school wears them. The best pointe shoes for a beginner would be Bloch, and for more advanced shoes, try Grishko or Freed(of London). Hope my answer helps!

umm definitely bunheads ouch pouch pads anddd i have chacott pointe shoes that have lasted me a longgg time, they've worked well for me, umm if you have narrow feet capiezo is great, and bloch, ehh a word of advice, DONT GET THEM!

Everybody is different when it comes to what shoes and pads to use. I like Leo's gel pads. I'm still on the search for the perfect shoe, so I can't tell you which one is best. Interesting topic!

I agree, bunhead ouch pouches are really great because they are thin enough to fit well in the shoe but don't wear down over time, just make sure to wash them regularly so they don't smell (you can use regular hand soap and water, air dry). My favorite shoes are Bloch European Balance but Bloch makes so many models that chances are you will find one you like. Some models even have a small gel pad in the toe of the box, which makes it easier to wean yourself off toe pads if you want to. Capezio is another reliable brand, but I personally prefer Bloch.

Most importantly, don't be afraid to try on lots of different shoes. You want to feel good dancing in them, not dread putting them on. The best way is to have a professional help fit your shoes, they usually really know what they're doing and are available for appointments or walk-ins at dancewear stores. Good luck!

Personally, I like Russian Pointe Polettes paired with PointeComfort toe pads.
