Position:Home>Dancing> Too Old to go back to Irish Dancing?

Question:I want to go back to irish dancing. Now that I am 15 years old do you think that it is too late? I did it for 7-8 years and then stopped for 4 years because I moved. Do you think that I will be able to catch up and maybe be in Prizewinner ?

-i have a really good memory and am willing to work really hard.

YES!!! Michael Flatley (the guy from Riverdance and Lord of the Dance) didn't even start dancing until he was 11. I have met plenty of girls your age starting out, one was 20 and another 18. Also, I have occasionally seen adults (and I mean around my mom's age) dancing in group competitions. As long as you don't mind dancing with people younger than yourself go for it.

15 is definitely not too old to Irish Step. I have a grown-up girlfriend who started taking lessons at age 52 ! She loves it, good excercise and has lost 32 lbs in the past 6 yrs, just from jigging!!! You go, girl!!!

GO FOR IT!!!!

No way! I know when I starting taking Irish in elementary school, there were moms in my class. You're never too old.

Hey you just posted on DDN didn't you!
