Position:Home>Dancing> It has always been my dream to go pro, or at least pointe....?

Question:I want to be a ballerina and go pro and be admired and renowned. I've just started ballet this year (im 13) and I am actually really good (my teacher is moving me up a level when its only half a year, when it takes about 1 or 2 years to go up a level!)!!! I want to go on pointe (with permission) reallllyyyyyy bad. I'm getting pointe shoes for Christmas (I can stand and walk in them). My ankles are very very strong (i practice 2-3 hours every day at home not including my classes) and my legs are lean but muscular. My teacher thinks I'm very good too, and she says I'm the most dedicated student out of my class.

In a nutshell, I want to go pro (or at least pointe). Is that possible at 13??????

Oh, and how can I have a better arch????

I'm not going to go into my whole schpeal about not wearing pointe shoes at home without taking classes in them first, but just know it's NOT a good idea. Also, your parents can't just buy you pointe shoes for Christmas. You have to get fitted in the store, or you run an even higher risk of hurting yourself in them. My point: wait until you're actually put on pointe at your studio where you can get proper instruction and corrections and have shoes that actually fit correctly. You wouldn't want to ruin a possible dance career by hurting yourself, would you?

honi anything is possible.. keep practing.. and you'll make it ! ?

If you mean being a professional dancer at the age of 13-no, that's probably not going to happen because you still have to worry about school.

But in the future-it defiantly is!

You should start doing Ballet exams which will give ballet companies/schools an idea of what level you are and your ability.

Practicing 2-3 hours a day is fantastic! Keep at it!

Good Luck with everything and I hope this helps :)
