Position:Home>Dancing> What do you find is the best toe protectors for pointe shoes?

Question:I personally like Bun Heads Ouch Pouches, and I have heard that they are the most Universal brand. They are really reliable, I've had mine for 3 years, and they look nearly new! I really do recommend these because these are the only gel pads where the gel doesn't fall off. Many toe protectors do not have 2 sides of material surrounding the gel, and this causes the gel to fall off after about 3 months of wear. I recommend discountdance.com or ask your teacher what is right for you!

It's been 35 years since I took ballet/pointe, but I didn't know there was a such thing as toe protectors. We always had to stuff the top of our shoes with thick lambs wool that we got from the drug store. I'm curious to read what they are using now.

al ot of my friends use lamb's wool except that it thins out very quickly due to wear, but a lot of people like ouch pouches too

I like reversible gelos

omg hands down...GELLOWS

thats seriously the best invention yet...i used to get blisters all the time and now my feet are perfectly happy....get these...you'll LOVE THEM

I've tried many different kinds, but I like Ouch Pouches the best. They don't flatten out like lambs wool and you can wash them (I don't know about you, but mine can get pretty smelly). Hope this helps!! :)

I love Ouch Pouches for when my feet are really hurting, but I mostly use paper towels folded around my foot (I know, wierd, but others at my studio use them and they really help you feel the floor). These can hurt if I'm doing a lot of pointe, so then I switch to Ouch Pouches.

Gel pads numb your feet and are WAY too thick, so I hate using them. The moment I tried them, my dancing got worse because I couldn't feel where my feet were in relationshipto the floor. Ouch Pouches ARE gel, but they don't numb your feet and aren't anywhere near as thick.
