Position:Home>Dancing> Please don't take the pizz, but do you think you can make and 'erect'

Question:I have looked on the net and it seems to get a proper good quality pole you are looking at 200-300 quid. Or a cheapo nasty unsturdy one for 70 quid.

Where could you get a suitable pole from to make your own!

Before you laugh, its for fitness and fun only...look at this link and then you'll want to try!

You could knock down and steal a lampost or a goalpost from a local park. However to prevent any accidents involving dog urine or rust, I'd buy a new one if I were you.

my mates gf is into pole dancing, they got a pole for bout 120 to place in spare romm, really easy to put up aswell, she and her friends use it, so i persume its good quality, that was brand new

Having a dance pole is a great idea but don't try to erect some cheap pole. There is a lot of pressure on the pole when you're dancing and if the pole is not put up properly you could take a really painful fall (not to mention ruining your ceiling).

Look for a tubular steel distributor in your area, stainless would be cheaper than chrome, not sure what finish you are after, they should also sell the flanges that the pole fits into.

You might want to try using plumbing grade pipe with screw on flanges on top and bottom that are normally used to for Bolting peices together.

You can then use lag bolts to secure the top to the ceiling and bottom to the floor. You can then polish or paint the pole. You might want to put down a floor section first before you have the pipe cut and threaded.
