Please forgive me if it looks like I'm pouncing on you when you appear to be so new to using Yahoo Answers. But since you don't accept email, I must publicly voice my objection to your pejorative use of the term "gay." I realize that young people often see nothing wrong with using the term this way as a general put-down. But in the dance community, especially, it's not acceptable. I know a gay dancer who was killed this past summer in what appears to be a hate crime (the case is still unfolding through the court system). He was a wonderful person who loved life and was killed two days before his 20th birthday.

So, please, as a dance teacher, I would hope that you could find it in your heart to stop using the term in this negative way for the sake of your fellow dancers who know and care for gay friends.
