I want to go!!!!!!! is it too late?!?! (ballet)?

Question:im in the class right before Pre/Pointe
im 13 and i have been taking ballet for 8 years
im sorta good but not THE best in my class.
i want to join to pre pointe class like next month but i dont know if its too late. the recital is in early june.
i want to go into the pre pointe class because if im good enough i may get reccomended for pointe shoes.
only a few kids are already on pointe in the pre pointe class
do you think that if i join in january
that ill be able to go on pointe shoes for the recital?

You may need those six months until recital to actually get approved for shoes, but with the experience you have, I don't see why you can't at least start the class. I have a hard time gaging when people are ready if I don;t see them. Our studio didn't have pre-pointe, you went or you didn't. I took ballet for 2 months then started pointe, but I was a gymnast first and have very strong legs. However, when I teach, I can tell who really souldn;t be in the shoes. You'll have to talk with your teacher, and see how advanced the girls are who are already on pointe. You may be able to start doing some fo the barre with them, but it will beup to your teacher, who knows your abilities better than we would, to decide how soon and if you'll be ready by june.

It depends on the time you spend practicing. I am thirteen as well and have pointe shoes. It depends on how dedicated you are to ballet.
I think you would definetly be able to get on pointe shoes for the recital if you join now and the recital is in early June. It really all depends on how dedicated you are.
